The Client:
A young man living with cerebral palsy in Joppa, Edinburgh. He lives independently in his own adapted home and is very active. He is a wheelchair user and has an adapted vehicle to get around for his active social life. He is a very creative individual and is a member of local creative groups, attends concerts, goes to the cinema, plays music and is involved in the local stand up comedy scene.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support with social activities, outings and interests
· Assistance with all aspects of personal care
· Administration of medications
· Moving & Handling
Essential Skills & Experience:
· Previous care experience
· Because of the nature and location of this role, applicants must live within the area and have a full UK driver’s license with access to their own transport
· Have a team player attitude while showing empathy and understanding in demanding situations
· A great sense of fun and humour, we value developing warm positive relationships with everyone we support
· Adaptive communication and ability to understand alternative methods of communication
Due to client’s requirements, a full driving license is essential for this role.
Available Shifts:
Sleepovers: 16.30 – 09.30
Day shifts – 09.30 – 16.30
Weekends 09.30 for 24 hours, sleepover included
365 days a year support, 7 days a week
Benefits:
· Hourly rate £12.00 during the weekdays and £12.60 during the weekends
· Permanent part-time employment contracts available (including up to 28 days annual leave & a company pension! These benefits are pro-rata for part-time contracts)
· PVG fees paid by the company
